Herbal Drugs Said To Be Dangerous
In Health news- Health officials and other volunteers nationwide are warning people with issues on sale of herbal medicines, which is said to cause illness to 17 villagers in Kachanaburi.
According to the Public Health Ministry some of the herbal medicines contained steroids, which could kill people.
Prad Boonyawongviroj, the health permanent secretary said that companies selling herbal medicines are using a different marketing strategy in selling their herbal products. Companies are letting villagers to try their product first and payment will follows if the consumers are satisfied.
Results of the generosity given by the companies a lot of villagers purchased the said products. In the news it was reported that the vendors are targeting consumers who suffer from chronic diseases such as diabetes, paralysis and high blood pressure.
The warning given from the health officials and other concern citizens started when 17 villagers from Don Salaeb in Huay Krachao, which is a district of Kanchanaburi purchase the drugs from vendors who visited the neighbor.
The drugs are said to have side effects. Consumers who took the diet pills said that they felt dizzy and were unable to open their eyes only 3 minutes after taking the herbs. This resulted the consumers to be admitted in local hospitals.
The herbal drug is said to be a powdered drug that needs to be mixed with water before it is use. The powdered drug is said to contain steroids, dexamethazone and prednisolone. These steroids are said to be a group of drugs under strict control and needs doctor's prescription before you can buy it.
Siriwat Tiptaradol, secretary 杇eneral of the Food and Drug administration the said drugs can affect all the body systems are very dangerous. Too much dose of this drugs are said to affect the immune system. It can also make the stomach bleed and can cause tiredness and dizziness.
Dr. Prad and other health officials and around 800,000 volunteers warn the people that they should be aware of these drugs which are sold usually by traveling in cars. Vendors who will be caught selling these drugs will be put into jail for three years and will have o pay an amount of 5,000 baht.
